It is official on Thursday 17th April 2008 Burley Oaks Primary School became an Eco-Code Silver Award School. The Eco-Schools programme provides a simple framework to enable our school to analyse its operations and become more sustainable. By following the programme, our school has begun to become an even more stimulating place in which to learn, whilst reducing the environmental impact of the whole school on the community. We have already increased our recycling, reduced dinner time waste, introduced more green plants into the school, completed an Eco poster competition and set up an Eco team with children, staff and guvernors. You can download our ACTION PLAN here to find out what we are going to do next. Below is our school's ECO CODE OUR ECO CODE We
are making our school a greener place . Our main project now is to work on improving our outside areas. We would like to make some areas where the children can work outside and also attract more wildlife to our site. This will be a project that we hope the whole school commumity and the wider community will get involved in so anyone who is interested in getting involved please contact Miss Worsman or Mr Sells. You can find out more about the scheme here by looking at the Eco-Schools website
